Apple updated its Apple TV software yesterday, to version 5.0.2 for second- (720p) and third-generation (1080p) models.

According to Apple’s support page, the update, with build number 9B830, does not alter the Apple TV UI but rather “Addresses an issue which caused content restrictions to be incorrectly applied for the iTunes Store in Australia.”

This could mean more global media content will be available in Australia for Apple TV users.

Apple TVs can be updated by selecting ‘Update Software’ in the Settings menu.
