Lucky Apple TV users will be getting a treat with the upcoming release of iOS 5: Bluetooth support for wireless keyboards and, just maybe, iPads, iPhones and iPod touches.

According to 9to5, beta testers digging around in the iOS 5 SDK discovered code pertaining to Bluetooth capabilities, which will be able to be activated via the setting menu.

While the update is apparently designed for wireless keyboard support, there’s a possibility the function will indeed stretch to other iOS devices.

The discovery is accompanied by rumours of app and App Store support for the Apple TV device via iOS 5, including, perhaps, an in-built Safari web browser for the TV.

Apple is also expected to be launching a third-generation Apple TV, sporting a dual-core A5 processor and Full-HD 1080p playback later this year – and it’s possible the Bluetooth capabilities will only be applicable to this new device.
