Online music platform VEVO, in partnership with MCM Media, has launched on the Apple TV, bringing a library of 75,000 HD music videos and concert performances to Apple TV users.

Featuring new releases from popular artists and videos spanning the past, the VEVO app allows users to create and sync video playlists or select and stream music from the range of VEVO offerings.

Users can select the VEVO app from the Apple TV home screen and search for music via featured artists, scroll through videos from any genre or choose to listen to a song suggested by VEVO.

The service will compete with the YouTube app for free, ad-served, music video streaming in the living room.

The iTunes Festival is also available for free on the Apple TV, with over 60 artists performing over 30 consecutive nights starting from 2 September.

The festival, now in its seventh year, will feature a range of music performances from Lady Gaga and Katy Perry to Dizzee Rascal and Jack Johnson.

The full line-up is available on the App Store.
