Apple topples Google in most valuable brands ranking

Apple has regained its position at the top of the table in the 2015 BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands ranking. Apple’s brand value grew by 67 percent to record a total brand value of US$247 billion, with Google growing just nine percent to US$173.7 billion. Microsoft, now worth US$115.5 billion, is the new number three, rising one position with value growth of 28 percent.

BrandZ says Apple’s growth has been driven by successful sales of the iPhone 6.

Facebook is the fastest riser in the BrandZ Top 100, growing 99 percent to US$71.1 billion, with the total valuation of the Top 20 brands growing by 24 percent to just over US$1 trillion.

New to the top 20 tech brands this year are China’s rising telecom infrastructure provider Huawei, which has been valued at US$15.3 billion, and Adobe, valued at US$7.4 billion.
