i-pad keyboard coverApple is set to reveal a keyboard cover at its media event tomorrow morning, according to an alleged former Apple employee, in a similar style to Microsoft’s Surface tablet keyboard case.

A recent post on the blog of Jamie Ryan, who claims to have worked in developer relations at Apple, states the Cupertino-based tech giant has been testing a prototype keyboard cover to release with the fifth-generation iPad.

The event’s tagline, “We still have a lot to cover”, could potentially give an indication to the truth of the rumour, however it may simply refer to the company’s products that are is yet to be updated in 2013.

Posting on his blog, Ryan claims the prototype covers are reportedly like the Touch Cover for the Surface tablet.

“I’ve been speaking to a couple of people at Apple for the last few days and they have told me that a case for the full size iPad that mimics Microsofts touch cover has been prototyped,” Ryan said. “It’s not clear whether the process is far enough along to make this Tuesdays event but they did say a few different styles had been in testing for a while.”

Ryan also indicated Apple is looking at “other cover-like accessories”.

Speculation indicates Apple will unveil two new iPads at tomorrow morning’s event, alongside new Haswell MacBook Pros, OS X Mavericks and the revamped Mac Pro.
