In an unexpected move, Apple has announced that it will be providing a live video stream of tomorrow’s keynote, which begins at 3am AEST 2 September for Australian readers.

According to Apple, the video will be available at www.apple.com, and will be broadcast using its “industry-leading HTTP Live Streaming” meaning iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users can watch the event live alongside Mac (and PC) users on Safari.

While Apple generally streams audio of its financial conference calls, the company usually avoids live video streams of its major keynote events, preferring to upload an edited version a few hours later.

Australian Macworld will also be providing a live text commentary of the event. Check back later today for more details.
