That’s according to Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White, who claims to have spoken with sources in the supply chain that believe Apple is set to have an “exciting” September. Apple Insider reports that White expects Apple to unveil its next-generation iPhone and 7in iPad ‘mini’ at a September event.
The Taiwanese supply chain sources also told White that they believe Apple will introduce a unibody aluminium casing to the next iPhone, but it won’t be Liquidmetal.
At the end of May, alleged parts of the next-generation iPhone emerged, revealing a taller device with a metal back and a 4in touchscreen. The headphone jack was also moved to the bottom of the device, beside a new, smaller dock connector.
White did not reveal much information about the aforementioned iPad mini, which has been talked about for some time but continues to be viewed with some scepticism following Steve Jobs dismissal of the idea. However, White believes that the 7.85in iPad could launch alongside the next iPhone.
