Apple shop opens at Sydney Airport

A new Apple shop has opened for business at Sydney Airport. We were a bit excited to find out about this one – but it looks like it’s not a full-blown Apple Store. Rather, it’s one of the kiosk-style ‘shops’ that operate within Department stores such as Myer and David Jones.

Located in the Departures precinct (after Customs) at the Sydney International Terminal, the shop will at the very least offer a way for Mac fans to kill time before a flight. And if something does take your fancy, you can pick it up duty free to take on holiday. Items can even be purchased on departure, but picked up on arrival back into the country.

The store includes a Consultation Bar – not to be confused with a Genius Bar – with specialist Apple consultants to assist with product knowledge, demonstrations and advice. The shop stocks the expected range of MacBooks, iPods and iMacs. Though taking a 27in iMac on holiday wouldn’t be my idea of a good time. Right in the centre of the store, however, is the real goldmine for an airport technology store – headphones. I’m sure they’ll sell dozens to the jetsetter crowd – especially the noise-cancelling ones to drown out aeroplane engine noise.

I just purchase a MacBook Air. I want to know if I would be able to download my Photoshop CS3 at the Sydney Airport Apple kiosk. I live in the country and this will be the only oppoitunity to download my CS3 disc. If not is there an Apple store close to Tokyo station.

Hi I am currently overseas and missed the Apple Kiosk on departure in April as our flight left a 6.00am. Can I buy an iPhone online Duty Free & pick it up on my arrival back into Australia in June please

  3. Macworld Australia Staff says:

The way duty free works now, you can buy it before you leave and claim the GST back at the airport as you depart. That will be cheaper than purchasing directly in the airport.

    Hi guys,

I’m transiting in Sydney for 2 hours on Saturday morning.
Was wondering if you guys have a jet black iphone7 and an iphone7 plus in stock?
Is it cheaper for me to venture into the city to get them, I don’t have much though.

    Regards,
    Kj

Can you please advise if there will be someone on duty later this afternoon to assist with an issue with a MacBook Pro – unable to recognise my new iPhone 7plus, to restore it from a back up?????????????????????

URGENT assistance will be required please.

Do I have to make an appointment time with someone to help, upon arrival?

Actually travelling from Queensland to Sydney for work, and through I could take the bus from the domestic terminal to the international terminal and ask for your help.

    Thanks so much
