Apple is trying to erase all evidence of the Genius Ads that met with derision. The company has pulled the ads from its YouTube channel and the Apple.com website.
The set of three ads were aired during the Olympic Opening Ceremony and were deemed ‘embarrassing’, ‘cheap’, ‘cringe-inducing’, and ‘dreadful” by critics.
They featured an Apple Genius helping various Mac owners in unlikely situations.
Not everyone felt that the ads were misguided however, Macworld’s Philip Michael’s noted that the ads were meant for new customers, not the current Apple community.

The fun police strike again… They were funny, quirky and poked fun. Come on Apple you have lightened up, don’t let the a few people spoil the fun!
