Apple has released a second preview build of Safari 6, fixing a bug that made the previous build of the pre-release web browsing software crash.

The first developer preview of Safari 6, which was released after Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference on 11 June, would crash when a user entered two full stops into the address field. In Safari 6 Developer Preview 2, Apple has resolved this issue.

Safari 6 will see the arrival of iCloud Tabs, a new feature that will allow users to sync open tabs and websites between Macs and iOS devices. It also has a unified smart search field: Type in whatever you want and Safari will give you search suggestions, bookmarks, history and more. There’s also Tab View, with enables users to navigate tabs using gestures.

The new Safari will be available alongside Apple’s OS X Mountain Lion in July.
