Apple has released a minor update to iOS 6.1 overnight, with iOS 6.1.1, aimed at fixings issues associated with its iPhone 4S handset.

According to the Cupertino-based company, the “update fixes an issue that could impact cellular performance and reliability for iPhone 4S.”

Apple released iOS 6.1 a fortnight ago, enabling iTunes Match subscribers to download individual tracks from iCloud, the ability to reset a device’s Advertising Identifier and provide increased global LTE support to 36 new iPhone carriers and 23 new iPad carriers.

iOS 6.1 received criticism after some users reported increased battery drain after updating, however iOS 6.1.1 update doesn’t appear to address the issue.

The iOS 6.1.1 update is available as an over-the-air upgrade, or can be downloaded through iTunes.
