Apple Pay comes to ANZ

The ANZ Bank has leapfrogged the other big banks in bringing Apple Pay to its customers.

As an ANZ customer, I’ve added two credit cards to my Wallet, complementing the American Express cards that I added when Apple Pay first arrived here last year. ANZ has in excess of five million local customers, meaning the payments market has suddenly gained a massive player. I assume the other banks won’t want to be left behind as there’s little doubt ANZ won’t use the addition of Apple Pay to its payments portfolio to attract new customers – particularly tech-savvy millennials who are known to swap banks in order to access better online features.

As for other local banks, time will tell.
