As if selling nine million phones in a weekend and racking up the fastest uptake of a new iOS to date wasn’t enough… We all know that what everyone really loves is a movie/phone/operating system that’s a hit with the fans and the critics.
And today, the signs are that Apple has pulled off that seemingly rare feat, because the reviews for the iPhone 5c and 5s are flooding in thick and fast and, so far, they’re looking pretty good. And that’s not just Macworld and Macworld Australia talking.
Apple has taken this opportunity to stop and crow for a minute, with a new feature page on its website linking to reviews from the likes of The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Time, CNET, USA Today, Esquire, Engadget, Daring Fireball, AnandTech and TechCrunch.
As MacRumors.com has noted, most of the reviews are actually about the iPhone 5s, but the 5c does get a look-in too. And the list currently winds up with a last word from TechCrunch, “With the iPhone 5s, Apple once again wins the right to claim the title of best smartphone available.”
All in all, not a bad week for the Cupertino California company.
