Rumour has it Apple is developing an Apple Car. Credible sources like the Financial Times, claim Apple had a team of almost 1000 engineers working on the project and statistics on LinkedIn show 640 Apple employees have a background in the automobile industry.
While we have no idea of how it will look like, what it will be and if it’s real, virtual design studio DesignCrowd, had a little fun with the rumour and held a competition for designers around the world to design what the Apple Car might look like. The best design gets rewarded for entering.

With all the reports on the Apple Car floating on the web, we’re wondering who controls the data from the smart car?. If that software is closed off to the owners of the device, then you can’t really say the buyer truly owns it.
Perhaps ‘ownership’ itself is an old-fashioned concept. Maybe we’re entering an age where most of our belongings are leased rather than owned.
