The call comes just hours after Apple released the OS X Mountain Lion Gold Master seed to developers on Apple’s Developer website – the same copy that the public will be able to buy.
“Make sure your apps take advantage of the great new features in OS X Mountain Lion when the world’s most advanced operating system ships to millions of customers worldwide,” Apple said.
An updated seed of OS X Lion 10.7.5 and a Gold Master build of Xcode 4.4 has also been released to developers, according to Apple.
“Build your apps with these latest seeds, then test and submit for review. You can also submit iOS apps that take advantage of the new cross-platform Game Center Groups, so they’ll be available when OS X Mountain Lion ships.”
Available in the OS X Dev Centre, the pre-release version of OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion’s build number is 12A269 and is 4.34GB in size.
The Lion update, titled 11G22, focuses on graphics performance and quality; image and media importing, editing or viewing; and networking reliability and performance.
OS X Mountain Lion will cost $20.99 and expected to include over 200 new features.
