Apple will be adding a new ‘Food and Drink’ category to the iTunes App Store.

According to an email sent to selected developers by Apple, the new category will go live in “the next few weeks,” and apps will be automatically migrated to the new category, reported by Mac Stories.

However these developers will have the option to opt out by July 8 to the new ‘Food and Drink’ category, if not the new category will be assigned as the primary category for these existing apps, where most would currently sit under the LifeStyle section on the App Store.

The new category will include “apps that help users cook and bake, mix drinks, manage recipes, find new restaurants and bars, but the new category will not include diet, shopping, coupon clipping or food-related gaming apps.
