Can I connect a projector to the MacBook Air?

- Prue Royle

Yes, but you do need the correct adapter for the projector type you have – there are both Digital (DVI) and analogue (VGA) adapters available. On the Mac side the connection is the Mini DisplayPort or the newer Thunderbolt port – it doesn’t matter which you have as they’re interchangable. Go to System Preferences > Display to customise the view of the display while the projector is connected.

You can’t go wrong with a VGA adapter when connecting to a projector. While newer projectors will have DVI or HDMI, a lot of offices/boardrooms/theatres have basic or older projectors. VGA is the de facto standard for projectors while it stop being used for monitors a long time ago.
