I am suddenly unable to view the web address or the Google search window or hit the ‘back’ button on Safari 5.1. How do I get this to go back to the way it was? Otherwise, I need to use Firefox, as Safari has become completely useless on my MacBook Pro. Please advise.

It sounds like you have hidden your Toolbar. When you are in Safari, Go to View > Show Toolbar. If this doesn’t work, try right clicking on the toolbar and select ‘Customise Toolbar’. You can then drag the default setting back in if they are missing.
