Tested and calibrated in a wind tunnel at the Technical University of Denmark, the electronic-free Vaavud wireless wind meter connects to iOS devices to provide local weather information. According to BiteMyApple, your iOS device connects to two magnets in the Vaavud’s rotor, which use the smartphone’s built-in magnetic field sensor to measure the speed at which they rotate.
