Sony has announced a new, smaller PlayStation 3 to be available in Australia with a 500GB hard-drive or with 12GB of flash memory on September 27. Buyers of the latter can boost capacity with an optional 250GB external hard drive (to arrive in November; price TBA). The new PS3, available in Charcoal Black or Classic White, is 20 percent smaller and 25 percent lighter than the current model.
