Sony has announced two new camera models featuring a new translucent mirror technology that promises faster shooting by allowing light to pass through directly to the camera’s sensors. That also means a smaller camera body, higher continuous shooting rate, and continuous auto focusing, even while the camera records an image or video. The higher-end a55 boasts 16.2 megapixels, can shoot up to 10 fps, and has built-in GPS capability. The a33 offers 14.2 megapixels, and can shoot up to 7 fps. Both can record full HD AVCHD (1080i) or MP4 (1080p) video at the press of a dedicated Movie button. The two models come body-only or bundled with an 18-55mm lens.
