There’s been a tidal wave of underwater devices over the last twelve month, but GE’s unveiled a new addition to the pool. The DV1 Mini Camcorder can shoot high-definition 1080p video at depths up to five metres, while also being able to withstand drops from 1.5 metres up. It’s also got all the connections you could ask for, with HDMI, USB and SD card built into the device. All the goodies found in other point-and-shoots are in the mix, with optical image stabilisation technology, underwater colour mode, automatic face detection and red eye removal included. GE’s flogging the little thing for under $200, which on first sight makes it look like it might be a little winner. Watch out for the full review in an upcoming issue of Australian Macworld!
