Topics I've Started
21 December 2012 - 05:39 PMHi guys,
So, it's been a while since I've hung out on the forums... I hope this post doesn't seem too sales-y! Apart from hoping you guys are interested in helping me, it's awesome to see a bunch of you are still on here - what have I missed?
In case you don't know who the hell I am, I used to be the online editor here, keeping the trolls at bay and deleting spammy Nigerian accounts. Oh, and I used to write the occasional article too. I've been doing a bunch of other stuff since (hence the non-participation on the forums), including building a site called wherethetruck.at with some mates. It's a pretty simple premise – it maps out food trucks around Australia.
We've had a great response, but of course, no one wants to use websites these days. The cool kids all want an app. And we want to make them one.
But mapping apps can be hard (as any Apple fan should know), and we don't have the cash to cover development ourselves (since we want the app to be free, and not completely covered in ads).
So we've set up a Pozible campaign to raise $10k to build and support the app so everyone can find their dinner a lot truckin' easier.
It'd be awesome if you want to support us. You can pitch in anything from $1 up to $1k+, but we reckon the best level is $79 which (if you live in Melbourne) will get you an invite to the launch party. There's sure to be beers and truck food, so why wouldn't you want to be there?
Just go to pozible.com/wherethetruckat if you're keen. Or check out our site at www.wherethetruck.at.
Thanks for the support.
