Make sure that the HDMI cable you have supports HDCP as without this some protected video will not play. I've also had this occur with a known HDCP compatible cable and to get it working again I just had to unplug it and plug it in again. YMMV

    Ok, thanks for that tip.
I'm currently using the same cable I've been using the whole time but I'll go buy another cable and see what happens.
I'll report back in a day or so.

Ok, No I've not tried airplay.
When we bought the ipad I asked the store assistent what I would need to be able to display ipad content up onto a TV screen and we just got the HDMI cable and adaptor. Up until this new issue arose it's always worked fine.

What about mirroring your iPad to your tv? I know your saying you have a PC, do you have a mac you can mirror from? Just a thought.....

No I don't have a Mac, if by mirroring you mean that what I see on the ipad screen is what I also see on the home TV , then yes that is what I've already been doing and have been doing up to date to successfully watch the shows on the TV.

I physically connect the ipad to the Tv by a physical cable. Can still view photo albums, apps all that stuff just no longer the TV show I've synced across from itunes onto the ipad.

Well I've now had the Nokia for a few months.
Still the biggest + for me has been the larger screen size, it's very easy to read, very sharp, shows pictures very well and the touch response is quick and reliable.

Got all my contacts and songs over once I worked out how to do it but not yet worked out how to add to my song play list.

The camera is very good and video mode very sharp, the flash is handy.

No overheating issues, it's only locked up on me once requiring a re-boot.

Very easy to add ringtones and move files back and forth across the phone and computer.

I'm not often in a 4G area but it's very fast when I am.

I'm not a fan of the tiles and given a choice would still opt for an IOS type operating system, though having said that I've never needed to pull out a manual to work out how to do anything I need to do at least. I'm sure it can do lots more then what I know or do but that was the same with my iphone.

The only little foible it has which catches me out every so often is that after it's been turned off when re-started the ringer volume defaults to 19/30 and if I don't remember to turn it up I wont hear it.

Assuming the rumours were correct then $1299 is a big wack of dough to pay for a phone.

As some may recall I bailed ship from iphones due to not being able to get an iphone in a screen size comparable to the Nokias or Samsungs. My 3GS still works reliably though I've got no sim card for it now, I keep it charged for just in case.

Not wanting to hijack this thread too much, I'll just quickly say I ended up with a Nokia Lumina 920 and been very happy.
Screen size just right for me, quality of images and responsivness of the touch screen is very good and the camera is great.

Nothing too bad about the O/S but not as good as the Apple one as you cant set up folders.
