An open letter to Apple.

I appreciate the fact that the reason that I do not and can not have enough RAM is that you specifically *chose* to cripple my iMac by giving it a pitifully small maximum RAM capacity (4GB!)… presumably so that I would come back and buy a new iMac a year-and-a-half later.

The thing is… as I sit here, wasting my life, waiting (literally) three, or four, or five minutes between steps towards doing what I want to with this machine… the really salient thing about my iMac is this waiting.

As for buying a new machine: it is very apparent that the experience would be the same with the next iMac; you clearly have no intention of selling a consumer-grade machine that does not have severe limitations on upgradeability.

I have indeed bought a new machine. (I have already done this, because the hard disc space has run out as well (including the additional external drive). I do not want a whole row of external hard drives along the desk.) The new machine is a PC. I hope to get it working as a Hackintosh, but, if not, I shall still be content that I have chosen the lesser of two evils.
