Fellow forumites, Not one for E Bay, I let friends and some of my fellow forumites know I was purchasing the new MBA 11" (already have the same size MBA 11" just upgraded etc, so had to sell the old). Loaded all the data on (thunderbolt), Being in Sydney at the time and was in the Apple Genius bar, as you do, I thought I would get them to wipe the old machine and load Lion OS X 10.7.4 on it while I was browsing for more stuff I don't need!

New owner would basically have a brand new machine, right from scratch...

Anyway, I didn't sell the MBA 11", but my wife Lisa has an Evil Bay account so I said "have you ever sold anything before ?"
I received a flat " NO !"

So....... what do you do? I used Lisa's account to sell my MBA, Right ?

Wrong!

I did the pictures (selling ones), loaded them, very fair price on it and then, sat back and they started coming in ( the punters ), a few days went by more punters, then a price for the total amount. You beauty SOLD !

Here is a picture of the first email.......Blurred out the personal detail....

See, if you, can read on the email request above...in NZ, working etc.....makes for interesting reading

So I did the following
  • Sent Invoice
  • Sent email, as requested to buyer
With the hour, I had a message from E Bay saying my listing had been cancelled and I was going to be invoiced for $70.00 (payment for selling), Then reimbursed.....

Next........a email from E Bay saying the listing had been hacked, the buyers account had been hacked and they were going to refund the $70.00 and to re-list the MBA 11" !

Bloody hell, so me being me, though this is crap, called Brian, sent the emails over to him and said "is this the way it's meant to work?" HA!

My gosh, well not really my gosh, more money coming in :yahoo:

then the bit I love the most.......

My experience has been mostly positive. My wife uses it extensively to sell stuff and she has had about 21 non payers. I use Gumtree to buy stuff as well.

I thought if you used Paypal you were protected.
