My Macbook Pro got water spilled on it at home on Friday (not by me) and now the Magsafe board is fried and the logic board got wet so is probably fried also. The Apple store said they don't fix water damage.
If insurance comes through (they have said no initially) I will be glad to purchase the new model to be released shortly, If not I may have to get a cheap PC laptop till I can afford another Macbook. I was and still am totally shattered.
With the water spill I turned the power off straight away and placed in rice. Took it to apple the next day. After they said they couldn't do anything I took the back off and dried it out with air and dry spray. It turns on but will not accept any charge at all. So it is good for about 5 more hours I guess.

Bad news, Bren. Water damage is a bitch in so many ways.
Hope the insurance company pays up!

Over the last few days I decided to try my Macbook Pro again.
Low and behold it is working perfectly.
Is charging well, wifi works, all keys work, I can't fault it.
My question is, should I thank my lucky stars or am I not out of the woods yet?
Is it likely to stop working again?
I haven't had it on for more than an hour or so before turning it off again.
Thank for any advice you can give.

Wow somebody likes you.
It's going to be really hard to say, you could be lucky, but when it comes to electronics, anything is possible.
