Looking for a not-too-complicated editor to record/edit music from my LPs to Mac and eventually to iTunes. (Have I missed something in the Forums?) Have tried Audacity which though good is frightfully complicated to wade through. Something easily comprehended ... well ... is there such a thing?
Any suggestions Please?
I run a Mac 10.6.8; 2.8.GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, with 4 GB Ram.

As ken said Ive heard people using garage band with a USB turntable i think
But have never understood why people wanna compress the beautiful sound of an LP into an MP3. Just my opinion.

Maybe it's just me, but I have trouble fitting those portable turntables into any of my pockets, even the ones on my baggy trackpads

Ha-ha! Yes.
But I can't believe I'm the only one with a cupboard full of LPs waiting to be recorded onto CD—that's where they are headed for: CD/DVDs. Having them in iTunes is just for the convenience. LPs are certainly beautiful, but they do have a used-by date in that they suffer from wear an' tear—fatally. Who wouldn't want to preserve the best of the past on a CD/DVD?
And yes I have a USB turntable for (PC and) Mac: an Akai; code no. ATT022U V2. It has excellent reviews.
So is GarageBand the go-er? Have GB (v. 4.1.2), but never used it and I haven't a clue how to. How does it work in this situation? Are you sure it's the best one for the job?
Thanks to all so far. But if possible I'd like a few more options please?
