Macrumors Bye Bye 17 inch macbook pro, well thats the rumour floating around town today, personally i think the entire macbook range should go, and be replaced with macbook airs, will anybody miss it?

No, but this smells of link bait (by the analyst). Apart from that I agree with you TL, merge the MB Air and Pro lines. Maybe just revert the name to MacBook. A 17" Air doesn't make much sense but it's so niche it wouldn't matter.

Yes, we had a story on this early this morning. Frankly, I don't want laptop screens getting any smaller - my sight is pretty woeful as it is. BUT if they can keep screen real esate and package it into somethong a bit leaner, lighter and more portable then I think it can only be a good thing.
