BGR is claiming apple will make the iPhone 5, less than 7.9 mills thick, thanks to new technology.

This is all fantastic, but is a super skinny phone enough to make you dump you 12 month old shinny new iPhone 4s, for something 2 mill thinner, or does apple need to pull a rabbit out of its hat, and come out with something as ground breaking as siri again, to get you to part with your cash.

I'm still using a 3GS so plan to upgrade to the next phone regardless. It really comes down to ergonomics though. Skinny isn't necessarily better.

I too am quite happily using a 3GS and will do so until Apple come up with something smaller than a tablet.

I can't wait for the new iPhone.

I think it's going to be a beautiful piece of industrial design.

I also have this feeling that we won't be seeing a 4 inch screen. I think it will remain the same size.

So my question to everyone is would they get the new iPhone if it still had a 3.5 inch screen??

To me, I want a device that isn't the size of a brick sitting in my pocket. So I would be happy if the screen size didn't change.

Unless Apple can make the phone the same size as the current model but make the screen 4 inches. Now that would be revolutionary.

I don't think they can make it wider, I think they can get away with making it 1/2 taller would be a better option, and a lot nicer to hold.

yesterday as I was doing some errands I missed calls. I have never hated a phone so much. Even I was a Nokia fan for years.

I agree there with you Brian, a bigger phone would not be the go either. A slimmer phone yes! No smaller screen tho! But maybe a slightly larger keyboard or something that would make typing a litlle easier without having to miss letters all the time.


And NO.......I can't wait for the new phone. Think am going to make a move and get one....I am torn!

Pegi, hang on to your well loved Nokia, I remember when you sold your iPhone (weren't you going to bury it in the back yard at some stage?), there was many comments as to why you wanted to get rid of it and now your in love with an iPhone that isn't even here. Caress the Nokia, or relent and tell all of your love of the Apple iPhone.

I cannot wait for the new iPhone, I've spoiled myself over the years, getting a new iPhone every time a new one arrives, and i was devastated that I actually dropped and smashed my beloved iPhone 4S last

week. Ask Brian & Ken, it was tears for me.....
