Is Your Wireless Network Secured? QLD Police crackdown.

Check this out.

Queensland police are stalking neighborhoods looking for unsecured wireless connections in a hope of cracking down on e-crime.

I guess it makes sense - but how is this topping a priority list of things that need to be done?

On one hand I agree, it does seem frivolous when gangs of youths are terrorizing trains (as happened this week), but if you can stop one paedophile hijacking someone's unsecured network I guess I'm for it.

On a side note I'm sure at least one European country has made having an unsecured wifi network a crime.

Looks like its Germany, a fine of up to 100euros for an unsecured network.

They're not fining anyone and the plus is Police will be visible on the streets.

No, they aren't because its not illegal here, thats in Germany i was talking about fines.

But i agree, more police on the streets are never a bad thing

I hope it doesn't spread - I love accessing free wi-fi, especially when I'm out and about...
