In the land of gadgetry, things just keep getting weirder and more wonderful.

As you know, in Macworld mag we feature a gadget guide in every issue. And in our quest to find standout products, we come across some real gems. Sometimes we marvel at how functional a design is. Often, it's value for money that gets top score. Other times, there are gadgets so completely random and creatively absurd that we can't help but share them with you: Now is one of these times.

Have you heard of kawamura ganjavian? Perhaps not. They are a Japanese architecture and design studio that come up with concepts so crazy they're actually kind of genius.

We featured their OSTRICH head pillow last year, for those of you who remember it.

But it's a new year and with it comes another kawamura corker. Introducing the DESKSHELL - a cubby-style desk divider for the office. It's said to combat noise, light and other distractions. Plus (and they haven't pitched it as this YET) it's a great way to check your Facebook without your boss ever knowing.I've attached an image for you to see it in its full glory.

I'm so amused by this, I needed to share it with someone. Sadly, it's not currently for sale. Otherwise I'd buy one. Make that three.

Great find! There is a similar product out there that looks like a knitted jumper that does the same thing, but they've been let down by marketing it as a way to sleep at your desk.

At least this claims to help you work!

Haha, yes under the guise of 'productivity' I'm sure this would sell!

I would love one of these. I sit opposite a guy at work who burps every 10 mins... It grates on me sooo much I feel like slapping him... He does those burp under the breath things... He can't help it, but it annoys the hell out of me.

So this product would be perfect!

Buy a gun Brian, it's cheaper and a lot more effective.

Hmm Ken, I'm not entirely sure a box for your desk would retail at a higher price than a gun...unless you buy it in Tijuana.
