Mac Keyboard Some key not working

This morning I woke up and the the numeric part of the keyboard on the right hand side is not working. In fact the keys 7 8 9 do not respond anymore. All the others are ok. But the ones on top of the letters are all fine on the main keyboard.
Does anyone knows what could be wrong? Any tricks that I am not aware of?
Thanks for your insight.

Probably the first thing I'd do is turn it upside down and give it a damned good shake to get rid of all the crumbs, etc.
Banging it softly on the desk also helps!
Further than that, is it an aluminium or plastic one?

The keyboard is aluminium.
Will try your suggestion and let you know.
Thanks

Take a rest from the computer. I feel sorry for your keyboard already. Yea...fingers like jackhammer Dave. I have to agree on this metaphor.
Well, it looks like I might take a trip to Dick Smith also. But I'd rather save for the Iphone 5....OHOHO!

I have had a two of mine go haywire over the last 6 months or so, each time it's been a bin job, and a trip to dick smith to get a new one.

Also if I bought a Bluetooth keyboard, it has no side panel for number is that right?
My husband has one and it has no side panel with his keyboard and I do not like it that much. I prefer the side panel with the number I find them easier.

Pegi, I went through 2 wired aluminum keyboards last year. The first one, the caps lock light stopped working. The second one had a stuffed key, it randomly started typing 'e' for no reason. So I finally replaced it with a Bluetooth keyboard, and haven't had any issues with that one.
