Mobile gamers, get your blinkers on...Sony's long-awaited PlayStation Vita launches in Australia tomorrow!
Mobile gaming is a seriously tough market to break, since smartphones, tablets and all third-party apps exploded onto the scene. Even still, the Vita packs a serious punch with unprecedented technology, at a relatively cheap price too.
Check out all the specs in this post.
I'm not a diehard gamer myself, not to the point where I'd look beyond my iOS setup for another device, but I'm curious to know what you guys think of the Vita and how well it will do here in Aus...

Game stores will be happy! I'm not interested in it.

Sorry Grace i posted a similar topic, didn't realise you already did! this is becoming a habit with you and me
yes i plan on getting one, but probably not on launch, i don't like how sony are only releasing it in game stores initially to drive demand, i'll wait for big w to get it and have it for way cheaper.
(or i'll get it from a uk website i know of that sells video games and hand helds for way cheaper then anyone in Australia)

I used to love my PSP, but think going back to a console-style mobile platform from iOS might feel like stepping back in time.
Mind you, having said that, there are some games that just don't work well on the iPad/iPhone – first-person shooters, for example – that worked so well on the PSP.
I'll reserve my opinion until I try it.
Cheers

It's a bit different to the old PSP. It's got touch front and back screen and it's got uncharted!

Clearly a case of great minds JZ!
The response I've gotten so far is that gamers will likely buy one, but only after the launch. This is the biggest difference between a Sony release and an Apple release.
Even still, I wouldn't mind giving it a go...looks fancy.

Hey Grace.. your comment 'Looks Fancy' reminds me of those McDonalds Ads for the Angus burgers....'It's a little bit fancy'.....:-)
I'm not a gamer so I'm not interested, but I can see the attraction for people who love playing video games.
