yep, September/October seems about right, given that the iPhone is the new iPod and therefore part of the Christmas gift line.

If they ring it out every 12 months to the day or the week, it gets to predictable and people will simply stop buying a few months before, and wait for the update.

Guys there is no way I will ever buy a Samsung or a Nokia...:)

I have owned 2 Nokias before.. And I loved the first one... That was many years ago.... Nokia were the leader at 1 point in time... But thank heavens Apple made the iPhone!

I saw a guy on the train today with the new Samsung 5 inch device thingy.. Not sure what it's called.... Its just too big... The guy then made a call on it and it looked ridiculous.. Took up half his face...:)

I really hope the next iPhone comes out sooner....please Apple...please.

Haven't you heard? That's the new cool. If you want to be really, REALLY cool you get a 7" tab with a STYLUS (OMG, I can barely contain myself) and hold that to your face. Then you'll be cooler than a Samsung ad B)

Ken, I do have that reputation. I always undercut the competition.

I think the iP5 will be out much later in the year, but I agree with both golfer and Ken! :171:

I mean, I don't want it to be (I'm still living with an iP3GS because I missed the 4 due to a severe lack of cash, and won't get the 4S and be stuck in an S cycle) but I think it will be later in the year to create some hype closer to Christmas. BUT ... if there's really an Apple TV on the horizon (which seems about 50/50 now) maybe that will be the pre-Christmas pressie and we'll get the phone earlier.

Brian, I saw a guy at a US airport making a Skype call with his iPad held up to his ear. Now that looked stupid!

Cheers
Dave

Hmmm. Ya just can't seem to pick it these days. Apple seem to be changing it up all the time. Oh and Apple tv set - with Mac mirroring in mountain lion I wonder if they will bother

I'm going to have faith Jamie and still keep on dreaming it will be out in July.

Wow Dave, you're still using a 3GS, I bet you can't wait for the next iPhone. I'm not sure if a real ATV will be announced this year, but if you think about it, Apple haven't launched anything innovative sinbce the iPad, so maybe the TV will be announced this year.

Yeah, Brian, my 3GS has become both a source of pride and a bloody pain.

I live in hope re the ATV ... though I'll have to buy it and present it to the wife as a fait accompli!

Cheers

I just hope Apple TV (or iTV) doesn't need a aerial so can get rid of the mast on my roof. I hope it's Internet based.

Hmm but if it's Internet based, how do you watch free to air tv ? Can that be broadcast via the net ?

I have pay tv, so I don't have an aerial on the roof, so if I ever dump it, I will be watching a fuzzy screen. :P

Hey i just want it Internet based. It's upto apple to work out how to do it.;)

It would be great if you wanted to record something it could go straight to iCloud and then you Could watch it anywhere on any device.

But I believe tv stations will merge to the Internet eventually.

It would be easy to make it both - I can't see a technical reason why not and an it's has to be natively networked. I'd be happy with an ATV box that does both.
