G'morning friends and fellow nerds,

I don't really think you're nerds, but perhaps for the sake of what I'm about to discuss, we should all consider becoming one...

Internet Service Provider iiNet (the one with the funny moustached man on all their ads) have just announced the return of the TopGeek competition – a search to find the country's most talented geek through a series of challenges that test 'gaming, fandom, creativity and Internet skills'.

Now come on, that should pretty much sum up all of you!

TopGeek 2012 follows last year's content that saw plenty of entrants fight to win.

What is the prize? Get your geek on and you could score an all-expenses paid trip to the US to attend one of four 'geek' events including ComicCon, Consumer Electronic Show (CES), South by Southwest (SXSW) or Penny Arcade Expo (PAX).

'TopGeek TV will air each fortnight from 30 March 2012 until the TopGeek 2.0 final on 10 May 2012 (also hosted by Lawrence Leung). The series will take a closer look at the nerdy stories behind the competition and the geeky finalists.'

To enter or to read the competition Terms and Conditions, check out www.topgeek.iinet.net.au

May the force be with our forums!

Well I for one will be keeping this very quiet from my work colleagues. Aparrently having a Windows server and Windows PC (both work owned) along with a Macbook Pro, iPad and iPhone (mine) around the one desk makes me an ultimate nerd...

I love that you clarify all PC and Windows products are work owned and not a personal choice! Very important distinction to make though...

Geek has much better connotations these days so I would embrace the title. Geek is chic? I want to get t-shirts made!

Cool idea grace. The t shirts should read MacWorld Forum Geek.

I'm a proud geek - comic con and penny arcade would be my two favs to vist. Too bad MacWorld (now iWorld) isn't on the list too!

I'd buy one...with extreme hesitation to wear it! Ha. The prize is great, that's for sure. Keep me posted if any of you decide to enter!
