I'll add one Jamie...

Why no Calculator on the iPad????

It looks like I will definitely need to upgrade this year...Mountain Lion won't support Intel Core 2 Duo processors...

What a pity... NOT...... Now I have the perfect excuse to convince my wife we need a new Mac....:)

It is odd that these apps are missing. I always wondered why?

That's the way of computers, old ones can't run newer software... And I'm sure Brian will be happy with his new purchase if he can get his wife to agree (good luck Brian ;))

Apple can make more money from selling 3rd party apps like calculator (i know i have bought a calculator app as have countless others, although there are free ones to get too) so why would they bundle them in their existing products?

yeah that's true, but they already have them on the iPhone and iPod touch, i've never bought any to replace them hoping apple would just include them one day in an update, and now that OS X is mirroring iOS you'd think they would want all their Apps on all the devices...

if they had a calculator on iPad it wouldn't even have to take of the screen, they could have it so it could kinda float over the top of other apps so you could use it at any time in any app

It would be a handy touch, you can buy calculators for it, Don't get me wrong, but it would be nice have one integrated into it by apple, like the iPhone.

Are you sure about the Intel Core 2 Duo thing? US Macworld article says that 2007 iMacs will run ML and they'll all be Intel 2 Core Duo.
You might not know it to look at me, but I'm pretty radical.

The screenshot here clearly shows 10.8 running on a Core 2 Duo machine which is shame really as it was going to be the perfect excuse to update!

It says it will run on late 2007 iMacs which is mine and it's Core2Duo. But won't run on plastic MacBooks.
