Although this not directly related to to AMW magazine it is connected.
Most regulars on these forums will probably remember my little rant about Zinio a while back. But over Christmas I have been trying both Zinio and Newsstand, and have decided neither is perfect.
When it comes to downloading and receiving issues on time, Newsstand wins hand down, when I get an email saying my new issue is available it's there waiting for me. With Zinio it's very hit and miss.
But.
When it comes to every magazine behaving the the same way and having the same features I'd have to day Zinio is the winner here. In my experience all mags have the same features in Zinio, that is, bookmarking, being able to open a web page from within the magazine, and being able to jump straight to a story from the contents page just by clicking on the story I want to read.
Where as in newsstand every app behaves differently and the have different features. And so far I have not been able to touch a story in the contents page an be taken straight to it, and links aren't "live".
So when it comes to buying digital magazines, so far for me it's not the best experience but I'm sure in time it will get better.

Great run down Jamie.
I've been using Zinio since November last year, and it works fine for me. The magazines seem to arrive on time and the experience is seamless.
I couldn't really ask for more except a more interactive magazine perhaps.

I want an interactive magazine that pokes people in the eye when they complain about Zinio!

I want zinio to provide free 3G chips so we can download product from anywhere, anytime just like Amazon does. Until that time, it's hard copies for me.
What are the chances of an Amazon published mag? I'd have to buy a kindle of course (to download it) but the cost of a kindle isn't much more than my monthly 1Gb download costs when I'm on the road anyway.
There's a solution already in place, I can't believe it hasn't been copied yet!
Cheers,
P
