Apple’s Mac App Store Opens for Business

CUPERTINO, California—January 6, 2011—Apple® today announced that the Mac® App Store℠ is now open for business with more than 1,000 free and paid apps. The Mac App Store brings the revolutionary App Store experience to the Mac, so you can find great new apps, buy them using your iTunes® account, download and install them in just one step. The Mac App Store is available for Snow Leopard® users through Software Update as part of Mac OS® X v10.6.6.

See :D

Ok so its been a year, and it came out with 1000 apps, and my guess is after 12 months it has what 1002 apps now ? but seriously I am curious how often people use the app store, apart from lion, i haven't launched it since, has anybody out there really embraced this this as much as the iTunes store ?

Yeah, I stop by occasionally.

I used it to buy iPhoto and few other free apps.

When I do go to the MAS looking for something in particular, it doesn't have what I'm looking for at least half the time.
You might not know it to look at me, but I'm pretty radical.

I use it quite a bit. Over a dozen apps. Usually compare the devs sight with Apple store. Depends on cost, licensing and features but it is very convenient.

I rarely visit it. I only do to see if there are any updates to the Apps I have installed.

I've only ever bought Aperture, 1 Password and Lion from the MAS.

I think with the portability of iOS devices and the low cost of the Apps, more people purchase Apps on their iPhones and iPads than on their Macs.

These are good enough stats for me.

By 2005, LG was a Top 100 global brand, and in 2006 , LG recorded a brand growth of 14%.[4] Its affiliate, LG Display, is now the world's largest plasma panel manufacturer
