I ordered and paid for an iPhone 4S in late November via. the NZ Apple Online Store. It shipped on December 7 and arrived in Auckland December 8. It has currently been sitting at the TNT courier depot since then and hasn't been delivered. My wife has called TNT twice to follow up on this (as I am currently in Australia for 2 weeks) and they don't seem to be able to give her any information on when it will be delivered which I think is shocking.
I am not able to find any way to follow this up with Apple online and quite frankly I am not very happy about the delay as I need the phone to be there when I get back to NZ on Friday night.
My wife is following up as much as she can with TNT couriers but I don't hold much hope of this being resolved quickly :-(

Sounds like you need to complain higher up the tree at TNT, rather than apple

TNT have no said that they have "lost" a couple of consignments and are doing a depot search overnight, if they cannot find the package after that they will arrange for a replacement. If that happens I can't see us having the 4S before Xmas.

But seriously, they had how long after Antenna-gate to get the reception right? And they've only succeeded in making it worse.

And don't talk to me about battery life. Although my acute problem has been fixed, the chronic problem still persists.

Dylan, I read somewhere that there is a problem with Telstra and the 4S in regional areas. Apparently Telstra needs to release some carrier update or something.

I can't remember where I read it though.

Yeah, the new handset didn't fix it, but a reset back to new did. Of course I lost 16 months of text messages.

There was a glitch somewhere that meant the phone wasn't resting when it should have. My statistics were identical for 'Usage' and 'Standby'.

I could always restore from my backup and then load apps on one at a time and see which one(s) caused the problem but I have neither the time nor the inclination.

I did wonder whether my reception problems had the same root cause as the battery problems, but it seems not to be the case unfortunately.

I read this one earlier about a problem with Telstra's network and the 4S although I don't think it specified rural areas. At any rate it was supposed to be fixed by now and it isn't for me.

Actually, re-reading that it was about the phone going to SOS Only which I did have, but I haven't seen lately.

So Jamie, how far is the TNT depot from your home,if they locate it, would it be easier just to pop down and grab it, to speed things up ?

It is quite a distance. If they can locate it they should deliver that day anyway.

Ok, I am lucky I have a TNT depot less than 2ks away, so if I am in a hurry for something I just rung them, and nick down and grab it.

This would be very annoying. My 4S arrived in about 10 days. I wasn't home when it was delivered so I went online & said I would pick it up the next day. Went to get it & they had put it back on the truck for delivery so they delivered it to work for me. The ladies in the office were very apologetic.
Re the reception I have gone from a 3G to a 4S so the improvements for me have been great. I have noticed the reception is much better than before. It also says "Virgin" not "Optus" anymore on the top of the screen. Not sure why.
