Being the lover of music that I am, I have the Sennheiser cordless headphones, great for listening to music and keeping the peace with the rest of my family. With the jack plugged in the signal obviously goes up to the sender unit for transmitting.

Now when i want to revert back to the Mac speakers, which are just great in my office, I have to un-plug the cable from the back of the Mac. This I find I am doing with some frequency.........

Question: Is there a way to switch from one to the other without manually disconnecting?

No I am not lazy

Then you'll just have to keep unplugging it and plugging it back in.

Is the sending unit plugged into the headphone jack, or a USB port? (sorry, not familiar with the equipment)

Assuming headphone port

Under the audio out pref pane you should be able to switch between internal speakers or line out (this is on a Mac pro, not a laptop, so you should have the option.

I would possibly consider a line switch between the headphone transmitter and some external speakers, so you switch the output post your computer, in that way you would not need to constantly change the pref, you could leave it on line out.

It's a iMac 27" 3.2 GHz i3, has headphone jack on the back

As Mick said there in the preferences, the only output is headphone Jack, the speakers aren't listed, if they were problem solved! what i need to know is if you can find a way to have them on there under system preferences. I wonder where they are hiding ???

The other will be through garage band and plugging the iPad 2 (which i haven't received yet), but that sort of defeats the purpose....

As you said "consider a line switch between the headphone transmitter and some external speakers" but this involves more expense.....

Thanks though

MS, Looked ok and i did the download of the .zip file ran the from there but it won't load, do you have the same issue?????

I have the icon but the program just will not run. I also had a look at the sys>pref>sound but there is no change to the original format, that was me just thinking that the there might be a change to the system profile for that program.

Mick

EDIT: Had a look at the read me file and it show up as a menulet......

I have had a closer look now and you can add a device but not the internal speakers,

Anyone had a look to see what's going on with this program??????
