I went to the Apple site ( support) and grabbed the Manual PDF, 907 pages of it, I have got some reading to do. This is where an Ipad would be perfect instead sitting at the desk top, I haven't gotta chance in hell of getting one.

Cool Jim.. So there is a manual... Excellent. Will have to check it out.
I also haven't got a chance of getting an iPad... I really want to upgrade to a MBP this year first, if I have a chance in hell if doing that...

Well as far as I am concerned, that's a flaw on two levels.
#1 why is the manual Not included at the time of download ?
#2 what stops some pirate from getting the program off a torrent site, and then just downloading the manual ?
Any reason to think twice about stealing the software ( there is no manual) because the learning curve is to hi, is now totally out the window.

Good points TL.
You know what, most software these days that you buy in a box doesn't come with printed manuals anymore or PDFs of the manuals for that matter. I think that's wrong seeing as though we pay so much money for them.

They DONT ? Really... I never knew that.
Last major program i bought was MYOB, which naturally came with a 300 page instruction book, other than that, all i have bought is iWorks, and iLife , which i didnt need a book for.

Brian, David Poque releases a series of books on all Mac related software.
I just checked Amazon and they are currently out of stock for the following, "Missing Manual Aperture 3".
In the past i have purchased his books from Borders but seeing they have gone bust maybe a retail outlet in your area may carry it.

I don't knock Aperture, however I had the free download of Lightroom 3 (came with a leica Digilux 5) and feel more comfortable with it. It is probably just me as I haven't delved too far into either program.
