Maybe Apple read my blog on the MBA versus the iPad... Rumour has it, we'll see an update to the ageing ultraportable this week.

Who wants to see the MBA get some love?

The MBA used to be the sweet svelte thing. Time has passed and she is begining to look a little frumpy compared to her younger cousin.

Yeah, I've thought for a while the MBA either needs an update or needs to be discontinued. Hopefully we see a pretty major upgrade this week!

That would be interesting... Though I reckon if we were going to see something like that, it might be at an event rather than a quiet update.

I reckon the MacBook Air is a sleeper, I think over time it will become more popular as it gets more flash memory and the price comes down. A light weight laptop with no moving internal parts is still a great idea.

I reckon it's an i7 Cube update! biggrin.gif

Now THAT's something I'd love to see ...

Cheers

This story got onto Mashable today. Is that why AMW is so slow this morning?

It has been a touch slow, but it's holding up pretty well with with a bit of extra traffic from some of the big US sites.

It's interesting to note that there are far fewer people interested in a MacBook Air update than the MacBook Pros from a few weeks back.

The price would need to drop a lot before it gains a larger share of the market. The ideal place for it is between the MacBook and the 13-inch MacBook Pro.

It also doesn't have flash memory; one model has SSD which is a different (and still expensive) technology.

Well, that didn't quite go as I was expecting. No new MacBook Air this morning... But still plenty of that unknown product code coming in to the country, according to my source. Maybe we'll hear something next week?
