Is it just me, or does everybody else think that steve jobs, is sort of standoffish, when Walt Mossberg questions him on the Ipad?

I think Steve could be frustrated that people don't get this thing like Apple gets it. To them, I think, it's an eBook reader. First and foremost, it's a device for reading books. That might rationalise all the "faults" everyone is talking about.
As Steve says, "who is going to read for 10 hours?"
Does he seriously think, that's mostly what people will use it for? That's the one thing I'd be extremely unlikely to use it for. I scarcely read books now. I don't have time. When I do get time, it's very unlikely I'd read them electronically. Maybe with the iPad screen I would. Depends on the light levels of the page.
Ever notice how pages in a novel are never bright fluorescent white? That's what makes screen reading so painful.

I'm not so sure, it's an entertainment device, not just a reader.

Has anyone noticed that nobody refers to a "reality distortion field" when referring to Steve Jobs anymore? It's because he has turned ideas at which some people have scoffed at into (often widly successful) reality. The iPad is just the latest example in a long list.

I think he should have just called it the iPod touch X, for extra large or something. I really don't think it's ground breaking at all. To me it's just an iPod touch for people who need coke bottle glasses to see the screen, maybe when steve was in hospital he watched to many reruns of Mr Magoo.

Give it three months. He'll walk into that Apple store and whip out the coke bottle glasses quicker than you can say 'optometrist'
