Telstra iPhone users, when you plug in your iPhone this morning click on 'Check for Updates' - there's a carrier settings update that will enable tethering biggrin.gif No charge, and just uses the same data allocated for the phone, just like on 3.0 smile.gif

We Vodafone subscribers have had it from day one. What's Telstra's excuse?

Round these parts, you'd be lucky to get any Voda reception in the open, let alone in a building!

How does that excuse Telstra for being so late to the party?

Well it's not really a very good excuse... But I would much rather be able to use my phone (and the associated data service) rather than have tethering I can't actually use due to lack of coverage. Having tethering now is a nice addition, it would've been nice to have it earlier but as I said, a non-tetherable phone that works is a whole lot better than a tetherable one that doesn't.

Fair enough. I guess. unsure.gif

I rarely have any issues with Vodafone coverage.

Great hairy goat's balls, batman. An insanely profitable telco with the best network coverage can't keep up with its competition. This is part of why I hate Telstra. They're all goats. Hairy goats with hairy balls. Telstra clearly hates the iPhone and has since day one.

Friggin' Telstra. (I said a bad word) 'em.

You are probably right Chris, I think it's iTunes that drives them nuts, if there was no iTunes we would all be downloading music from bigpond I am guessing.

Don't get me started on BigPond. That's hairy bison balls. Bigger than goat's balls. And saltier. But not a nice salty. Nasty salty. Like a "what-the-(I said a bad word)-am-I-wasting-my-time-at-this-sucky-site" kind of salty.

Telstra. (I said a bad word) 'em.

I spent nearly three months with the Ombudsman in tribunal meetings with Telstra over their failed Bigpond service.

Hmm I have 7 phones through them, and have never had an issue in 9 years in business.

But I guess every telco has it's problems, I gues with Telstra being so big they have more than most.
