open source Apple?

Er, not sure about your point but Apple yesterday released Grand Central to open source. Just sayin'...

Well, Apple does release the enhancements it makes to the Darwin bit of OS X as that's open source. The OS X UI, on the other hand, is Apple's proprietary intellectual property so that guard that closely.

I'm not surprised the Grand Central is open source as that seems to be a very low-level chnage to the base OS.

OpenCL would also be open source.

It might be worth noting, Apple makes use of those open source projects, and returns it's modifications. It could be that a few people not familiar with those applications might have the impression Apple has either made a significant contribution, or even been the founder or initiator of the projects.
