This is where we'll discuss what happened at the Keynote address after it has taken place. This forum opens at the start of the Keynote and should only be used to comment on what has been said, not to speculate on what might be said.

* time capsule great, but i would need double that size

* movie rentals great, but no aussie support blows

* macbook air seems to me more like a macbook replacement, than a ultra portable. glossy display not that great in the sunny glare.

...and i guess we know why the time machine wireless disk feature went missing after the release of leopard... time capsule seems a bit too closely related to time machine for them not to be released together. so the J team might not have been on schedule after all. i will have to just stick with the airdisk hack for the time being, since i was a sucker and bought an n-standard extreme base station less than a year ago. now if it were a DROBO style server... that would be the cream

I don't see why Apple couldn't have updated the whole line of MacBooks with that or a similar style. Now the MacBook's and MacBook Pro's look lame in comparison to the style of the MacBook Air. They could have at least added Multi-Touch to the trackpads on them.

my 15" macbook pro runs at 70 degrees 80% of the time, with the fans running flat out. i cant see the profile getting much smaller with the current hardware. i like the classic design, but the trackpad will most likely be the next upgrade.

why not make the macbook air a real UPC!
8" monitor, with SS hardware. the once introduced today is just a fancy macbook imo.

One thing I find interesting is just how little attention Apple pay to MS Office now - assuming there wasn't even a mention by Steve Job of Office 2008?

Office 2008 was mentioned early in the keynote, with Jobs commenting that it was the last of the big applications to go Intel Native -- this brought a cheer from the audience, although whether that's a Pro-MS cheer (which seems unlikely, given the crowd) or a mocking one for being "the last" was a bit unclear. It wasn't ignored per se, (it was at least mentioned) but very quickly; Jobs spent more time talking about the icons on the iPhone wobbling when you adjust them than he did talking about Office '08. Make of that what you will.

the ultimate time capsule:

• 2 x 1TB drives for mirroring (optional premium 4 x 1TB ) i dont like the idea of a single drive that could crap itself at any point, loosing your precious 'past'. adding another drive makes the product more appealing ( back up of your backup = more sales ), which wouldnt even drive the price up for the consumer.

• audio output, like on the express units should be a basic feature of the base stations. its not going to affect the sales of express units, but will strengthen the home network experience. no one wants to clutter their house with extra electrical devices( not to mention wastage of electricity) sitting next to each other for the sake of an audio output.

its a nice idea, but with the 25% price hike on top of the missing features, it doesnt hit the mark with me

New announcements in March I'll warrant.
Gotta keep the share market ticking all year round, not just in January

Hopefully an iPhone Asia about the same time
