I am running MacOS 10.13.4 on a late-2013 iMac 27" (with 3.5 GHz Intel Core i& and 32Gb 1600 Mhz DDR3) and I have the 3Tb fusion drive installed.

I was just importing images on to the disk and thought things were a bit slow so I checked the fusion drive drive usage knowing that I had plenty of available capacity.

Info reported available capacity was down to 48Gb - it should have been closer to 2000Gb (2Tb). I checked the contents of the drive and it was just over 1.1Tb

What is going on? I have lost 2Tb of disk space.

Note: I ran disk utility (First Aid) and it reported a healthy drive. Perhaps I need a more aggressive tool to analyse the disk?

I have the drive backed up to a 3Tb Time Machine and can dump files on to a NAS in the network.
