I know,im tragic,as soon as i saw the 11" in the applestore,i caved in,i was only going there to get an hdmi to mini display port adapter and walked out with that and a new stock 11" air, talk about a consumer shopping fix!lol.
now im starving this week,aaaah,anyway,
if anyone who reads this is interested in how well the new 11"air plays games,i feel compelled to let you know,it actually really rocks,i tried a demo of halo air,and i was surprised how well it coped with it,i also played a demo of amnesia and it killed it,the halo demo i ran for about nearly two hrs,and it didnt even get that hot, just a bit warm underneath,to be expected of course,i had the video specs up toward the higher settings,i just cant believe how well it copes, with even modern titles,i never got it for gaming, but its good to know anytime it has the goods.hope this helps anyone who is contemplating getting the new air,its quite a snappy machine,
i woke up and i was breathing, another good day!!!

11 inches ? It sounds like it's the size of an iPad after eating a couple of pizzas, I didn't actually realize it was that small until I read your post, now I really nead to go and have a look at one :P

Ha,ha,ha, love it! Welcome to my world Media Sorcerer, I have so much stuff because I see it, and just have to have it! But as much as I lust over the Air, so far I have resisted on the basis the my iPad fills the spot, but who knows how I'll feel next week! :)

The 11inch Air is just beautiful! I walked past the Apple Store yesterday and had to play with one and then I was walking past Dick Smith today and had to pop in and play with it. Also Dick Smith were offering 10% off all Macs... So tempting....:)

Check it out TL.. you'll walk out the shop with one...:)

I got an 11in from Apple today to check out. I don't know how I'm going to go giving it back. It's incredible.

Haha. It's even harder getting one and having to give it back than never getting one at all.

Any questions on what it's like? I'm very tempted to sell my iPad and get one of these instead.

Well that is question really Xavier, do you think they can co exist with each other or will people fall into one or the other?

I do a lot on the iPad and love it, I suspect the Air would give me all that and more but the loss of the touch interface is really the thing that holds me back.

Also in testing your unit are you travelling on public transport etc (or better yet a plane)? These are situation where the iPad is a stand out and depsite its smaller size I suspect the Air would run into the usual problems in those cramped environments with the screen needing to tilt etc.

I've had a couple of plays on one and I can see why you would want to sell your iPad. It's definitely Apples netbook solution, but of course Apple does it the best!

It would be awesome if the Airs screen folded right back onto itself so it becomes a flat screen and then it turns into a touch screen like the iPad. Then you would have the best of both worlds. I think this is a possibility. Probably won't happen, but it would be awesome if it did.

i like the ipad,i had reservations about it at first, but now i can see its a superb device with a wicked ui and a very satisfying experience in general, combine that with a great screen and superlative battery life and you have the goods,BUT!!!!![lol],the keyboard and the graphics capability, combined with a FULL operating system, and display out at 2650x1440,and thats the one,as for the battery,3-5 hrs on full brightness,6-7 on half or less, with minimal progs open, etc, there is an option to get an aftermarket juice pack if theyre available,
the mba 11 wins.get one if u are contemplating, youll love it as a portable machine,
i woke up and i was breathing, another good day!!!

I have one on order from my local retailer, after hearing that it plays games well I decided to get have the ram and processer upgraded to the maximum. I am an avid PlayStation gamer and along with a gaming mouse and keyboard the new MBA would be ideal for my gaming needs while travelling (something which can run a proper game (like Call Of Duty) halfdecent as well as being portable).

yes thanx for your response, thats good to hear,i doubt you will be disappointed with it,especially with 4 ram and 1.6.i think the gpu takes a fair share of the load when gaming, probably designed that way id say,i think they cleverly designed it so that under heavy graphic/rendering load the gpu makes up for what the cpu cant do,the size makes it a superlative machine for the avid road warrior/gamer,although the battery life is passable but not excellent, there isnt currently at this point in time, the tech available to make a highly portable machine that can have both battery life and great graphics power, the mba is the perfect compromise ,in my opinion,i hope this has helped you decide, they really are a rocking little machine, and the display,at 1366x768 is really crisp, colourful and very pleasing to the eye.maybe the lower res helps with gaming too, because the screen is so small, its still very sharp at that res.ive noticed that the usual glare associated with mb,s is slightly subdued due to a microscopic ripple or stipple that is apparent on the surface of the glass screen.its like an almost imperceptible deflective layer, yet not what we would call, antiglare.very clever, its different to mbpro,s.its less reflective,i bet the next iteration of macbook pros will come with this type of surface on the screens, andf i bet they will come with ssd,s too, enjoy, :yahoo: regs ms.

Thanks. I just picked mine up yesterday it is truly fantastic.

The battery is great too, big enough I can take it out with me without lugging around the charger, I rarely use my computer for 5 hours without a charge anyway.

i thought the same thing the other day, wonder when some computer maker will do that,or i had another idea, have a double screen,ie,one on each side, not just facing inwards,so wen u shut it,you have a tablet on top,
