I've been away from the 'zine for a while but dipped back in recently and was, on the whole, pleasantly reminded of how much I enjoyed Macworld.

Until I paged back to the letters page (Have Your Say).

The letter of the month takes two columns to suggest that updating your OS and backing up your stuff would be cool. Letter of the month? I get to the second, and final, missive and read of a poor chap who's having trouble with iCal. The letters editor responds thusly: "I don't use iCal, perhaps someone else can help."

I'm guessing you only got two letters in September...holy moly.

I think it might be time to retire the Have Your Say column. :-)

Greetings Hogscape

Some months we get very few letters. Others, we get lots. But I'm glad you stopped by and have had your say.

It's an interesting point Anthony. While hopefully the magazine draws a much wider audience than the three of us here, in 2015 isn't the forum the appropriate place to "have one's say"?

Perthaps if the column were replaced with a 'best of" from the preceding month's forum discussion (presuming that it can be built again), would that not be killing two birds with one stone?

Cheers

That's a good idea. Some months we use a combination of email i receive, forum posts, Facebook posts and actual letters written on paper.
